It is targeted at staff responsible for collecting, maintaining or releasing personal information.  Staff responsible for establishing or managing contracts with vendors that handle personal information on behalf of TAFE Queensland are also expected to undertake this course.

The topics covered will include:

  • What constitutes personal information
  • In what circumstances it is okay to collect personal information
  • Which requirements must be met before personal information can be disclosed to third parties
  • How to store personal information
The course will provide you with an understanding of the Information Privacy Act, the Information Privacy Principles as well as handling complaints. Activities and quizzes appear throughout the course and are part of your assessment. They must be successfully completed to complete the course.
